Here Is What Really Happens When You Eat Too Much On Thanksgiving - Find Out Now

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7VJ4cRWCpDw

Did you eat too much on Thanksgiving. Here is the reason you feel so full when you eat too much!

This video explains the science of food digestion. Why do you feel so full when you eat? Part of it is mental and part of it is physical. The more food you put in your stomach, the more it expands and pushes against the other surrounding organs. The mental part is when your brain sends a signal to your stomach to tell it to stop eating. If you keep eating, it tells the brain you are too full.

So was your brain telling you that you ate too much on turkey day? Let us know in the comments. Don’t forget to share this with your friends on Facebook and Twitter!

Fear and denial of the Ebola virus in Liberia

In the news today there is more on the outbreak of the Ebola virus in Liberia.

Here is an update of what is happening in Monrovia, Liberia.

220px-Biosafety_level_4_hazmat_suit

MONROVIA, Liberia — This morning Makasha Kroma shivered with fever. Her head still hurt; that hadn’t gone away. And she was vomiting a lot.

That’s why she’d ended up here, at a holding center where people suspected to have Ebola wait, in a dark classroom, for the results of their tests. These things — headache, fever, vomiting — are the early signs.

Ebola is transmitted through bodily fluids. It has no treatment, besides hydration, no cure, no proven vaccine. Since February, it’s ravaged West Africa, infecting more than 2,000 people in four countries and killing more than 1,100.

Kroma came to the West Point holding center with her sister, her three children, a cousin named Bindu, and two other family members. They are all women, or girls — most caregivers in Liberia are — and they washed Kroma’s clothes, fed her rice, wiped down her body, and cleaned up her vomit with a rag and some chlorine.

Those are the kinds of chores that give you Ebola. And the girls had no gloves. All the gloves the Ministry of Health brought this place when it opened yesterday, all 150 of them, were gone by the middle of the night.

That’s when three people escaped. Because Sam Tarplah and his staff didn’t have any gloves, they couldn’t restrain the patients who wanted to flee. They could only plead.

“We begged them, told them people are coming tomorrow to help you,” Tarplah said. “But there was no way we could fight them.”

Two escaped by climbing the back wall, according to health care workers in a clinic next door. Another, a woman with five children, simply took off, Tarplah said.

Tarplah is a registered nurse who’s worked in health care in Liberia since 1989; he opened this holding center for the Ministry of Health on Thursday, and had eight patients. On Friday, before the escape, he had 29.

West Point is becoming a hot spot in a hot spot in the biggest Ebola outbreak in history. It’s an informal community, a “slum,” with no running water or toilets. People can live seven or more to a single dwelling, and the density is dangerous: A positive Ebola patient disappearing into the maze of metal shacks can be a public health horror story. This Superfruit Has Arrived In Michigan - What Is it?

Hey everyone, there’s a new fruit introduced to Michigan recently. This fruit looks like blueberries and it’s stated to be high in fiber.

The flavor has been described by some people as being nutty, like almonds. Other people have reported that they think it tastes like a mix between cherry and blueberry.

This berry also makes good, sweet pies. So what is it’s name? Saskatoon, native in Canada.

saskatoon berry

Canadian farmers first began cultivating wild saskatoons, or juneberries, more than 30 years ago. Steve Fouch, a retired Michigan State University extension agent, encountered them there about a decade ago.

Fouch started promoting the plant in northern Michigan because it is cold-hardy, and the region’s soil is just right. But most farmers in the area grow cherries, and many were skeptical about this imported cultivar.

“People sit back and say ‘If this is such a good idea, why wasn’t this here 100 years ago?’ ” Fouch says. But people probably laughed when the first cherries first came to the region in the late 1800s, Fouch says.

Now that more farmers are trying their hand at growing saskatoons, people are also trying different recipes to showcase all that the berry has to offer.

DuCheney has been busy experimenting in his kitchen. He has used the berries in jams, jellies and pie fillings. “I just did a saskatoon bourbon barbecue sauce the other day, and it is really good,” he says.

Healthy Beauty From Around The World -- Its A Matter of Opinion

Ever wonder what you would need to look like in order to be considered beautiful in another country?

News from Buzzfeed and GoddessHub reports on a story where a young journalist, Esther Honig, petitioned photoshoppers from various countries around the world in a quest to discover what healthy good looks means to them.

The results she received are posted below. It is very interesting to see the different interpretations from around the world.

Honig’s solution was brilliantly simple: she sent a portrait photo of herself to freelance Photoshoppers in countries around the world with one request – to make her “beautiful.” … giving Honig (and us) a glimpse at what at least one person in each of these countries considers to be beautiful. Honig’s face subtly (and sometimes not so subtly) shifts, changing form and color as it travels around the world.

Here it is summertime and those pesky fleas are bothering my dog again.

Ingredients:

Serves: 1

Yield: 1

Here’s the US Measurements:

quart Units: US

1 cup liquid dish soap (I used Dawn for sensitive skin)

1 cup white vinegar

1 quart warm water

Here’s the Metric Measurements:

236.59 ml liquid dish soap (I used Dawn for sensitive skin)

236.59 ml white vinegar

946.0 ml warm water

Directions:

1 Mix the three ingredients in a large bowl and then transfer to a leftover squeeze bottle (like an old shampoo bottle). Give it a little shake to make sure it is mixed.

2 Apply to your doggy just as you would normal shampoo. It is best if you can massage it into the fur and let sit for 5 minutes. My dog did not mind as long as I kept massaging the shampoo around.

3 Rinse your doggy thoroughly with warm water. Towel dry.

How Coconut Oil Is Good For Your Dog

If you are like me and into healthy living and have a dog, chances are you take good care of him too.

In my quest for healthy articles for my website, I landed on this one that was originally posted on DogingtonPost.com that talks about the benefits of giving your dog coconut oil…enjoy!

coconut oil

There are many benefits of coconut oil for dogs being discovered for dogs, even though it was not recommended in the past. The coconut, also known as the “tree of life”, has been found to have many benefits not only for humans, but for our best friends as well.

There are many products and furniture made from coconut lumber and leaves. Many foods and desserts have at least a bit of coconut milk in them. But the most popular use of the coconut, in the field of health and medicine, is the coconut’s oil, which has been found to cure or alleviate many diseases.

Benefits of Coconut Oil For Dogs

Many diseases and ailments, like yeast infections, smelly coats, hot spots, cuts that have been infected, and even cracked paws, can all be cured with just a jar of “virgin coconut oil.” When all forms of diet remedies have failed, then it is time to try out this miracle natural medicine for your dog. Virgin coconut oil means that it is unrefined, and it can be used for both dogs and humans. Lauric acid, a medium chain fatty acid, can help prevent bacterial and viral infections. This is most commonly found in a mother’s milk and builds the immune system. Fortunately, dogs can benefit from the same kind of protection and health advantages it gives throughout their lives.

There are many other benefits of coconut oil for dogs, all good reasons why you should give your dog some virgin coconut oil. First, it can potentially reduce cancer risks. It also improves the digestion of your dog and becomes medicine for most digestive upsets. The thyroid function is also kept normal with coconut oil. It can give your dog a smooth glossy coat, as well as healthy, supple skin. Yeast and fungal infections are also treated and prevented through the use of coconut oil. Arthritis and similar pains can also be minimized or treated. Coconut can also balance your dog’s metabolism rate to keep his weight under control.
